This is the Surface Mount Technology Engineering Kit #1. This SMT Engineering Kit includes various quantities of SMT components including 4 pieces of an SMT Prototyping PCB to do your design work on. This kit consists of SMT components only and comes in a plastic storage container for easy storage and handling.
This kit includes Single, Dual & Quad Op Amps, Timers, Voltage Comparators, +/- Voltage Regulators, Ceramic (0805 & 1206) & Tantalum & Aluminum Capacitors, Inductors, Signal & Zener & Power Diodes, NPN & PNP Transistors, Power Transistors, RF Transistors, FETs, Resistors (5 sizes), Resistor Arrays, LEDs, Trimpots, Crystals, Clock Oscillators, Logic Gates, Speakers, and four Electret Microphones: all in SURFACE MOUNT. There are 168 different types and values of SMT components. For ease of identifying and handling the SMT components, this kits also includes an Eye Loupe and a set of Tweezers. You also get some electronic hardware for interfacing to the outside world.
The heart of this kit are the four SMT Prototyping Printed Circuit Boards. This board features:
High quality blue FR4 epoxy-glass printed circuit board.
Combined Through-Hole and SMT component placement capability.
Clear marking on the top side with numbered columns and rows.
Single sided for easy component removal.
PCB is 1mm (0.04") thick so it can be cut with scissors.
Fits into Tyco SnapTrack™ 2TK series rail.
Columns A-B, C-D-E, F-G-H, K-L-M, N-O-P and Q-R are interconnected.
Columns A and R have 0.9mm holes, the rest are 0.8mm.
The PCB is 2.7" (69mm) x 1.97" (50mm). There are a total of 400 I/O pads and 52 Power pads. You get 4 pieces with this Engineering kit.
These PCBs easily snap in to the Tyco SnapTrack™ 2TK channel creating a modular development platform. The SnapTrack™ is a non-conductive, rigid extruded PVC channel for mounting assemblies and custom built boards. PCBs snap-in from front and are held securely by integral ribs that absorb shock when PCB is flexed. Removal of PCB is very easy as well. There are no SnapTracks with this kit. 
Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components do not have long leads; this is a chance to get some SMT parts and learn to use them. There are enough different parts to build many different types of Analog circuits. Search the web for incredible circuits to build. We supply the parts, you supply the ingenuity.
