NF-1764 Fixed Power Supply Kit +6v
This is the +5V Power Supply Kit. It is a fixed, +6v Power Supply designed for the 7800 series of Voltage Regulators. It includes a 1amp Bridge Rectifier with 2 large Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors for initial filtering. There is also a .1uF cap for some noise filtering and a 1K bleeder resistor at the input. The output has a small filter cap and a Red LED with a 1K Ohm current limiting Resistor.
It will fit any TO-220 Positive Voltage Regulator such as the LM7805 or the LM7812 or any other of the 7800 series Positive Voltage Regulators. You can use the 78M00 series also. It will actually fit pretty much any 3-Terminal Positive Voltage Regulator, even the TO-92 ones. It will convert an AC input into a DC output. It will also convert a large DC input into a smaller DC output. This is an extremely versatile PCB.
The maximum input voltage is 18VAC or 35VDC. Do not connect this directly to the 120VAC line.
A heat-sink may be required to keep the Voltage Regulator cool, it is NOT supplied with this kit.The PCB is double-sided, plated thru-hole, 1.20" long x 2.10" wide made of .062" FR-4 epoxy glass. It has green Solder Mask (LPI) on both sides with white Silk Screen on the Top side and it comes with 4 mounting holes. The Voltage Regulator is located near one edge so that it may be heat-sinked if needed.
This kit does not include the tools you will need to assemble the circuit. You will need tools such as a soldering iron, solder, wire cutters, etc.
